2009 Revisited - A Quantum Shift in Energy Regulation
Jeremy Schultz, Partner Energy Law at Finlaysons

Energy continues to be a heavily regulated industry. This year has seen a raft of substantial changes in energy regulation, locally, nationally and internationally.

Key changes have included the Commonwealth Government's expansion of its Energy Target Scheme (RET), the introduction of the Solar Credits Scheme, the establishment of a new Energy Market Operator, the introduction of a Greenhouse Gas Reporting Scheme, new laws regulating carbon capture and storage, a geothermal energy framework and other changes to electricity and gas laws.

This presentation will explain the key changes and look at likely impacts for the future, including the Government’s Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.
