About Us

 

The Sydney Branch generally holds a Technical Meeting on the first Monday of each month, with refreshments, networking and a 6:00 pm presentation. Locations have varied in the past - please refer to individual meeting notices to confirm date and venue.

 

Members are encouraged to bring visitors, who are always made welcome. Around 25 to 70 usually attend, with numbers increasing. Typically the presentation lasts for 30 minutes or more, followed by an often lively discussion, with most meetings concluding around 7:30 pm.

 

For many years the Sydney Branch has also hosted a number of half-day Symposia, which typically examine a particular topic in some depth, usually 6 to 8 papers by a range of experts in their fields, extending from after lunch and concluding with discussion and drinks.

Symposium

Renewable Energy in Europe and Australia

 

The Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Foundation, on behalf of the Italian Trade Commission in Sydney, has pleasure in inviting you to a Symposium on ‘Renewable Energy in Europe and Australia’.

 

The world has recently come face to face with the realisation that the traditional sources of energy will not be there forever. Our hunger for energy already requires two planets Earth at least to provide coal, oil, gas, if we are to continue along this path.

Renewable Energy sources are an option that is now under greater consideration than ever before, and some of the old methods of producing energy, for so long discarded and almost forgotten, are under serious scrutiny in the hope that they will provide a realistic and effective solution to one of man’s greatest challenges.
