Hot rocks and
geothermal
Australia has promising geothermal resources and the
‘gold rush’ is now on with companies seeing strong support
from the stock market and the corporate world. Adrian Williams will
speak from his experience as the interim CEO of Geodynamics. Simon
Molesworth, an eminent environmental lawyer, is now Chair of Greenearth,
which recently received a $25 million grant offer from the Victorian
Government. He will discuss reenearth’s proposed geothermal
project.
Geoexchange
Less well know is
geoexchange – heating and cooling using heat pumps and buried
loops.The earth offers heat and ‘heat dump’ (for cooling)
capacity via geoexchange heat pumps,with several million installations
in the USA and Europe but only a few in Australia. Mirek Piechowski and
Don Payne will explain the technology, the opportunities, and the
Victorian Government’s ‘Four Seasons’ grant
program.
