Networking / Fundraising Event in Support of Pollinate Energy

Speaker: Monique Alfris, cofounder of Pollinate Energy

The Australian Institute of Energy, Young Energy Professionals invites you to a networking and fundraising event to support the work of Pollinate Energy.

Pollinate Energy was founded in 2012 by five young Australians from the energy sector to provide solar energy to people living in urban slums in India. The organisation does this by training Indian locals to become micro-entrepreneurs and providing a fellowship program, which gives young Australians exposure to the inner workings of a social venture.

At the event, Monique Alfris, co-founder of Pollinate Energy, will discuss her experiences in starting Pollinate Energy, the work of the organisation and what life is like for a young energy professional in the Indian energy business world.

About Us

The Sydney Branch generally holds a Technical Meeting on the first Monday of each month, with refreshments, networking and a 6:00 pm presentation. Locations have varied in the past - please refer to individual meeting notices to confirm date and venue.

Members are encouraged to bring visitors, who are always made welcome. Around 25 to 70 usually attend, with numbers increasing. Typically the presentation lasts for 30 minutes or more, followed by an often lively discussion, with most meetings concluding around 7:30 pm.

For many years the Sydney Branch has also hosted a number of half-day Symposia, which typically examine a particular topic in some depth, usually 6 to 8 papers by a range of experts in their fields, extending from after lunch and concluding with discussion and drinks.

Sydney Branch is always looking for help in putting together the technical program. If you can assist in any way please contact us at Image
