IPART is the independent regulator that determines the maximum prices that can be charged for retail energy, water and transport services in New South Wales. IPART administers the licensing regime on behalf of the Minister for Resources and Energy for both retail electricity and network operator’s licenses.  IPART also administers and regulates the NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) which is designed to help NSW families and businesses to save money on their power bills by increasing opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
